Kayla Cleaves is genuine.
The first time I came into contact with Kaitlyn was during Earn Your Wings. I started talking to her and found out she was a VERY special person! When I first started talking to her I started with general questions, the most common being, “what is your major?” As our conversation got deeper, we started to talk about our spiritual lives and some of the mission trips that we have been on. This is the part of the conversation that I learned what an extraordinary person she is! She told me about a mission trip she went on that was to El Salvador. While she was in El Salvador, she helped put on three Vacation Bible Schools, where she spoke a little Spanish to the children, just to hold conversation with them. Another thing she did while she was down there was she had the task of teaching a women’s class, her main topic was Moses and how you are never too old or young to become a follower of Jesus Christ. Kaitlyn told me it was only supposed to be twenty women at the most, and she was very nervous. The day came to give the lesson and she said over one hundred people had shown up, there were more women than intended and most women had brought their children. I asked her what one thing she did stuck out to her the most, and she told me about two people who she did a home visit to. The first one was to an eighteen year old girl who was in a motor accident and had been stuck in bed for months. She told Kaitlyn she struggled every day with trusting in God, but did her very best to have a positive outlook on her life and relationship with God. The second person she went to visit was a three-year old boy who had bone cancer. She told me that the family of the boy had to take a four-hour trip, three times a week for the boy to get treatment. When I asked her how she would sum up the trip as a whole, she told me this; “It was one of the most humbling experiences I have ever had and it made me think to myself about the all the little things that I take for granted.” This girl is one of the most amazing and positive people I have ever met and if you don’t know Kaitlyn, you should really get to know her. She has been a blessing to me and I know for a fact that she will be a blessing to any of you! Keep up the great work Kaitlyn!
There are many things that could be said about Paige Adams. The thing is though, none of them are negative. Knowing Paige has really impacted my life and I know she has made a difference in many people’s lives. Paige is one of the most amazing and sweetest people I have EVER met! Paige has such a servant heart, just the way that she smiles and is just genuinely happy all the time, she is a woman of God and lives it out every single second, of every single hour, of every single day. For those of you who know Paige, I feel like you would agree with the statements that I just made; for those of you who have no clue who Paige is, get to know her! She is always on campus smiling and ready to meet new people! Serving the Lord and being her unique humble self is what she is known for and what she is best at. Keep being you Paige!
One of the many thing that we can say about Jordan is that he definitely has a gift to share the word of God with anyone and everyone he comes into contact with. Many of the freshman chapels have been so successful because of his amazing lessons that he has presented to us. Being one of the Social Service Directors of the freshman class he has really stepped up to his role and has taken it very seriously. On a less serious note Jordan is one of the most down to earth people that we know, clearly a servant of God! The love he has for God and his friends shows what a heart of gold that he has, usually going out of his way to care for and/ or help some. Every time that we see him he always seems to have a smile on his face and is such a peacemaker. The conversations that we have had have never had any of us leaving the conversation with a negative vibe. He always handles situations so well, in no situation have I ever seen him panic in, he stays so level-headed and handles the situation with confidence.
This is a simple thing, we are about sharing the blessings of all OC students! There are so many amazing people at Oklahoma Christian that should be recognized for the things that they do. The thing with this blog though is that we don’t just focus on the big things that people do. We want people to know that they are special in some way, shape or form! People should be encouraged in everything that they do and in everything they say. The Lord has given everyone so many talents and unique qualities and we believe that they should not go unnoticed! If you have someone you know that has impacted a single person or a group of people in a way that you think they should be recognized for it, send it in at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will try to post it! Lets spread the amazing things that God has done through the people of OC!
